Ripple In The Water

Ripple In The Water

Calling in the wind a name
But I am calling to deaf ears
Colliding together, this story's the same
A thousand times, a million tears
Rain on my head
More to be shed

Ripple in the water
Stain on my knee
Gap in my heart
Part in the sea
To each his own they say
To each his own I pray
To each his own they say
Happiness may find me someday
Ripple in the water
Stain on my knee
Gap in my heart
Part in the sea

Waking from my constant nightmare
Only to find myself in another
Crying for help, hoping he might care
Yet my comfort is my dog and my cover
Pain in my head
Nothing to be said

Ripple in the water
Stain on my knee
Gap in my heart
Part in the sea
To each his own they say
To each his own I pray
To each his own they say
Happiness may find me someday
Ripple in the water
Stain on my knee
Gap in my heart
Part in the sea

Climbing to the highest point in a tree
I fall down but try once again
And when I reach the top what will I see?
What am I seeking? I ask where and when?
Despite the blood
I fight this flood

Queen of a Fallen Castle....

Pandora - Tom Bagshaw
Untitled

Queen of a fallen castle
Why are your eyes still kind
Your king was never found
Have your eyes grown blind

Picture on my wall
Painting in my heart
Balloon has been busted
With a liquid dart

Sensation can be fatal
Fulfilling as it may be
Lost in a mere statement
Who is watching out for me

Peering through my reflection
Question oh so strange
Child of the dark night
Looking for a change

I can see the future
Wandering visions in my mind
The words I write on paper
The meaning somewhere I find

I Miss Him So

Final Act - Tom Bagshaw
I Miss Him So

I miss him so
Tingles on my crown
Heart full of love
Web on my face

I miss him so
Ear burning hot
Deep drink of air
Wrapped in his embrace

I miss him so
Tender kisses
Passion filled dreams
His beautiful face

I miss him so
Andy in my ear
Animal messengers
Dragonfly in place

I miss him so
Computer craziness
Lights blowing out
Sharing phone space

I miss him so
Street lights flicker
Voice in my head
Majestic horse grace

Why did he go?
Future so uncertain
No guarantees
Can I win this race?

Author's notes: This poem is about a beloved guide who is no longer with me in spirit. They don't tell you that it feels like death when they go into a new body. We are supposed to be happy they landed a new ride, right? I wasn't happy at all. My heart broke and now I miss him like most people do when a person leaves a body.

Ch-ch-ch-changes...

Artist Unknown

I think maybe I need to say KUNDALINI more often.  It is the number one way that people find my blog.  I am genuinely surprised when someone other than one of my friends reads my blog.  I mean, I have no set form or blog topic. I am all over the place.  One minute I am talking spirituality and the next I am posting poems and the next just random stuff...saying whatever suits me at any given time.  I guess that is the beauty of a blog.  It is a place to just be you and go with whatever you feel in the moment.  It is like a fleshier version of Facebook.

Some people don't understand my desire to put myself out there and be public with whatever is on my mind. I have, at times, censored myself based on others' opinions and comments about what I choose to share, but I got tired of letting others dictate my behavior and what I choose to voice.  I decided I would go back to just being me.  If you don't like what I have to say, well that is your fucking problem, not mine. lol

From an outside view, I am well aware how it could look like I am not really doing much.  In fact, I have been accused of doing nothing by a few people close to me.  Clearly they do not have the eyes to see the truth of the matter.  What is right before their eyes is invisible to them.  There is SO much I am doing on an internal level.  But if you can't see, why should I have to point it out to you?  Why should I have to tell anyone what my self worth is...what my value is?   If you don't value me, I am not going to try to beg or convince anyone they should.  It just is.  If you can't see my internal beauty and all the changes I have made, then it isn't my job to force you to see or explain myself.

Honestly, I just don't care anymore if people understand me.  Some people "just get it".  Some people just understand and that is a beautiful thing.  I have felt so many of the people from my life fall away and the distance grow.  Friends I have had for nearly 30 years who I barely speak to anymore.  I still love them, but I love them from afar and with a sense that they no longer get the new me.  I don't feel inclined to share with people that couldn't even begin to grasp or understand some of the things I have going on in my life.  So I watch as they float away and become a distant memory of the story of me.

More and more I am letting go of my past, of my clutter that I have held onto for sentimental reasons.  I don't want the past to hold me back from moving forward and living fully in any given now moment.  I don't need things.  The things create baggage to pack when you want to take off on an exotic adventure.  So I am letting go of the letters, the bits and pieces that tell a story of my life.  I am letting go of that Duran Duran collection I have had since I was 14.  I am letting go of the gifts given to me by people no longer with us.  I am letting go of it all.  Those moments have been lived and don't need to be relived.  I let it all go with peace and love so that the experiences that are meant to come to me can reach me.

Bean In My Pocket

Newborn - Eduardo Rodriguez Calzado

Bean In My Pocket

Bean in my pocket
If I plant you, what will you become?
Will you become
The new life I dream of late at night?

A life unfettered
By the chains of living to survive

A life of freedom
Feathers cover my wings as I take flight

Bean in my pocket
If I plant you, what will you become?
Will you become
The song I hold in my heart and hum?
A string of sound
Floating through the air to reach you
All of the pieces
When brought together sing of a sum

Bean in my pocket
If I plant you, what will you become?
Will you become
A beacon of light shining like a star?
Illuminating, glowing
Lighting our way in the darkest night
Constant and true
Beloved soul who comes from afar

Author's notes: It is like giving birth all over again. lol I haven't written anything in close to 20 years.  This is the first of many to come.  My new material will reflect the growth I have made over the years and the new direction I have gone.

Tree of Hope

Tree of Hope - Shawna Erback

Tree of Hope

She cried softy on the hill
Beneath an old tree with dignity
All alone on her knees, tear drops falling to the ground
To the wind, full of feeling, life giving, with earth they blend
Old tree stood still and silent for all his years
But awakened when he took a drink of innocent tears
He moaned relief as limbs stretched and roots rumbled
For on this day, chains released, barriers crumbled
"Thank you," he said gently in his tree voice
A single green leaf touched the face that was so moist
"Why do you cry?" he asked aloud with great concern
"The world, dear Tree, has forgotten love. For blood they yearn.
I fear I'm losing the will and the strength to keep going on."
"It's hard," he started, "I agree, but look beyond.
Remove your eyes from this world's decline and mountain slope.
Look always up at the endless sky. There you will find hope.
Child, you're not alone with your feelings of sorrow and dismay.
Look always to the sky, something new is on the way.
You have been chosen to tell the world a new age is near.
I know this is so because you gave to me life with your tears.
You are tied to me now and forever with an invisible rope.
Go now, walk the path and remember I am the Tree of Hope.

Twin Souls

If anyone knows the artist of this piece, please comment so I can give credit.

Twin Souls

When we were light
We were as one
It was before our time
Memory? There is none
Purple was separated
To make red and blue
Blue was sent forth
To give life to you
Sent to another place
Red gave life to me
Twin souls separated
What will be, will be
Surrounded by many
Yet still all alone
Lost in this vast world
Each path all our own
Twin souls searching
For what, they don't know
The sun sets and rises
The wind continues to blow
The obstacle of distance
Won't keep us apart
A feeling we've followed
A feeling in the heart
With the gods as my guide
I found you, my twin
Our colors given the chance
To once again blend
Let's join as one color
Let a united light shine
Together we can conquer
Every mountain we climb

Written November 12, 1989

Author's notes: I wrote this many years ago.  I wrote it because of a sense I felt...a yearning to connect with someone I knew in my heart was out there somewhere.  While I no longer believe in the sense of twin souls/flames the way some do (two halves of a whole), I believe that there are people out there that are primary soul mates who we live life time after life time with.  There are special souls we are an energetic match to and sometimes they find each other and share a magnificent love...the kind of love people dream of.

If We Want the World to Change

If We Want the World to Change

We're trying to change the world
Trying to make it a better place to live
Talking about our environment
Politics and the need for a racial bridge
Drugs, the high crime rate, hunger
The homeless and the need for us to give

I'm telling you here
And now in all honesty
If we want the world to change
It must start within you and me
You can save the sky
You can save the trees
But what is it worth
Without humanity
We've got to make love for all
The focus of society
If we want our world to change
It must start within you and me

I see many obvious contradictions
With your words and the life you lead
Man on the street needs more than money
Yet for him you're unwilling to bleed
Oh yes, you realize there is a problem
Still your time is consumed by greed
Why not embrace a stranger today
I'm telling you love is what we need

Edited May 28, 2014 to add Author's Notes: I want to make sure everyone knows that these poem/lyrics, for better or worse, were written over 20 years ago.  On Facebook a friend and I had a discussion about saving our world, etc.
